It is a cold night here in Southern Ontario! Brrr! Feburary bring icy winds that carry blowing snow. Sometimes bursts of cold air appear in the atmosphere from the Arctic. We call them “polar vortexes”. Sound like something from a science fiction novel doesn’t it?

It isn’t easy to get used to. Generally the average Canadian learns to make their home very comfortable during the winter. A cozy blanket and a good book- or tv show- usually help to pass the coldest nights of the year.

Well we got packed a wallop of snow this month here in Southern Ontario!

Over the Valentines day week/weekend we got at least 30 cm, with more to come as of this writing. My arms are tired and feel a bit like spaghetti. Typing is possible only due to my will and desire to be productive in this current moment.

My recent series of paintings has mostly taken place on watercolour paper, as I explore new ways of achieving the fluid effect on mediums other than canvas. I did create two works on canvas this month as well, and I will debut them soon.
