Green, blue and silver acrylic abstract

My latest work is entitled “Two Moon Lagoon“.   I used an acrylic pour method as the background; mixing white and silver as the colour for waves splashing on the coast. If you look closely, you can see a high tide wave emerging from the lower left side. As the acrylic pour developed: a coral-like branch protrudes out into the heart of the painting. The branches have a fractal quality to them, which pull the eyes deeper in. Over the vista, and through the green limbs of an alien-looking cactus… Read more Green, blue and silver acrylic abstract

Soft Blue Sky and a Golden Sun

My latest painting is another example of my study of the sun. It features light whisps of glossy clouds as the backdrop of a pulsing golden sun.   I used texturing compounds to add variety to the surface of this painting. It has a muted style that sets it apart from many of my other paintings on this subject.   Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate your comments and I look forward to reading more. -S

I used real 10K gold leaf to emphasize three areas of the archipelago setting. For me, there is always power in trilogy as it… Read more Gold Coast Abstract Acrylic

Turquoise and Gold Splatter Acrylic on Canvas Calming Tropical Art

It is October and Autumn is upon us in Ontario Canada, yet my latest artwork has a warm tropical vibe. It reminds me of a golden coral reef scattered across a perfect tropical sea. As with all of my art, I encourage discussion regarding what is depicted in the painting. Abstract art has the opportunity to become much more personal to the viewer/owner when there are no constrictions on the concept of what is being depicted. The gold and iridescent turquoise in this work provides for a reflective surface, and… Read more Turquoise and Gold Splatter Acrylic on Canvas Calming Tropical Art
