I have been absent from posting new things for a few weeks- not because I haven’t been creating, but because of a mental block relating to how to write about it.
Sometimes I forget the lesson I learned when I was sick with cancer all of those years ago; which is to take it (life) one day at a time (or as I like to say “One day per time” lol.) Any life can be cut short, so try to enjoy the life you have right now.
Although I was enduring a mental block of sorts; I also was feeling bored with the appearance of my blog, so I updated it to reflect the project-heavy content. Over the years I have been diligent in including photos with every blog post, so I can take advantage of wordpress themes that showcase this.
I have also been broadening my horizons academically…but more on that in a later post.
My latest work is a two piece examination of cerulean blue and gold on canvas.
The gold represents the sun against a brilliant Caribbean sky. There is turbulence in the gold fields, and so perhaps there is turbulence in the artist’s life.
The first canvas is rectangular, and only about 6 x 12 inches. Meanwhile the square canvas is 10 x 10 inches.
I am working on 2 more canvas frames right now, and I hope to have them stretched and primed by the end of the May long weekend. I am excited to see what I will come up with!
Thanks for reading,
